         Title: Carob Chip Cookies

       2/3 c  Butter; softened   
              Salt; only if butter is   
              - unsalted   
     1 1/3 c  Honey   
         1 ts Vanilla extract   
         4 c  Whole wheat pastry flour   
         2 ts Baking soda   
       1/4 ts Salt   
         1 ts Cinnamon   
     1 1/2 c  Unsweetened carob chips   
      
     Cream butter with honey; stir in vanilla. In separate bowl, mix   
     together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Add this mixture to   
     honey mixture. When flour is mixed in, add chips and stir until   
     smooth. Form into balls, using about 1 tb mixture per ball. Place on   
     oiled cookie sheet and bake at 325?F for 10 minutes, until golden.   
     Allow to cool a few minutes on sheet before removing to finish   
     cooling.   
      
     Chocolate Chip Cookies:   
      
     Omit cinnamon and replace carob chips with chocolate chips. Add 1/2   
     cup chopped walnuts if you like.
