   Hi Ruth,

RH> We're away from home right now and Fido was spotty since Monday; today is
RH> the first day I've gotten anything.

   Welcome back!

RH> I've seen this referred to in some of my older "organisation" cook books
RH> (cook books put out by a group like church, school, etc) but never knew
RH> what was in it. Guess I could have looked at a bottle in the store. (G)
RH> Anyway, now I can make a better version of it, using fresher ingredients,
   RH> better cheese, etc.

I had not heard of it before now, but it sounds useful. I tend to make
improvised salad dressings, no two exactly the same. Often in the same
spirit as when i make soup. Hrm, what do i have extra of that i need to
   get rid of?

         Title: Salad Supreme Pasta Salad
    Categories: Pasta, Salads
         Yield: 12 Servings

         1 lb Spaghetti;
              - broken into 4" pieces
16 oz Zesty Italian salad dressing
         1 lg Cucumber; diced
1 lg Tomato; seeded and diced
     1 1/2 c Fresh broccoli florets
         2 tb Parmesan cheese; shredded
         2 ts Salad Supreme Seasoning

     Preparation time: 15 minutes

In our Salad Supreme pasta salad, bottled salad dressing and a
package of Salad Supreme Seasoning quickly perk up pasta and fresh
vegetables. It's a yummy addition to any casual meal or picnic.

Boil water in a sauce pot on the stove. While you're waiting for the
water to boil, break the spaghetti into 4" pieces. Cook the pasta
according to the package instructions, then drain and rinse it in
cold water, and set it aside in a large bowl.

Dice the cucumber and tomato. Remove the stems from a stalk of
broccoli and slice the remainder into florets.

     Tip:

Try to find plum tomatoes, as they contain less water, they're denser
and they won't cause your salad to wilt right away.

Add the Italian salad dressing, vegetables, Parmesan, and Salad
Supreme Seasoning to the cooked spaghetti. Toss everything together
until all ingredients are combined. Before serving, cover the Salad
Supreme pasta salad and refrigerate it for 45 minutes.

     Tip:

While there's nothing wrong with using grated Parmesan cheese from a
can, grating your own from a wedge of Parmesan means you can control
the size of the pieces--and it also tastes much fresher!
