Title: Kadalai Sundal (Lentil Snack For Ganesha Chaturthi)
    Categories: Indian, Snacks
         Yield: 1 Batch

       1/2 c Whole channa dal
         2 tb Ghee
         1 ts Mustard
         1 tb Green chiles; sliced
         1 c Coconut; fresh grated
       1/2 ts Salt

Soak the dal overnight. Wash and then boil the dal in water for 45
minutes, or until tender. Drain. Fry the mustard seeds in ghee until
they pop. Add the chiles and coconut. Stir for 5 minutes. Add the
     channa and salt. Mix well.

This recipe can be made with any dried pea or bean, even with beans
that have been allowed to sprout. To sprout beans, soak for 12 hours
and spread on a wet towel. Let stand for 24 hours, keeping moist.
Wash sprouts well to remove skins.
