I learned that the terms "First World," "Second       World," and "Third World" were economic designations, referring to       Industrialized and Fully Developed Countries (First World), Industrializing       and Developing but Not Yet Developed Countries (Second World), and Undeveloped       and Unindustrialized Countries (Third World).              Under that definition, which is what I was taught in grade school in the       1980s, Canada is certainly "First World," but I also had learned that the       Soviet Union, China, and India were all "Second World" countries given their       incomplete and continuing development towards true industrialization. It's       clearly a process that continues to this day for Russia, China, and India.              Kaelon - kaelon@kaelon.com       --- SBBSecho 3.15-Linux        * Origin: Vertrauen - [vert/cvs/bbs].synchro.net (1:103/705)       SEEN-BY: 1/123 10/0 1 15/0 90/1 102/401 103/1 705 105/81 106/201 120/340       SEEN-BY: 123/131 129/305 330 331 153/7715 214/22 218/0 1 501 650 700       SEEN-BY: 218/720 802 810 830 840 850 860 870 880 226/30 227/114 229/110       SEEN-BY: 229/111 206 317 400 424 426 428 470 664 700 266/512 280/464       SEEN-BY: 282/1038 301/1 317/3 320/219 322/757 342/200 396/45 460/58       SEEN-BY: 712/848       PATH: 103/705 218/700 229/426           |
