   I'm not a fan of the Republican party, and I don't have much energy in me to   
   defend them, but I think this is a misconception based on recent news about   
   "Trump, the Republican, guilty of a felony."   
      
   Wikipedia has a list of politicians convicted of crimes, and I scrolled to the   
   bottom of the list to the crimes that occurred in my lifetime, and it's mostly   
   Democrats, and it's mostly Democrats taking bribes and/or misappropriating   
   campaign funds.

   Both parties have a lot of bad actors, but the Democrats not only have more   
   than their share of sex crime convictions, but they're also the party who has   
   (in many instances) pushed for legislation that is geared towards protecting   
   sex offenders.
