20 years ago I had a background check when Pennsylvania was going to a new
CJIN interface and I had to go to a meeting in Harrisburg. Fast forward to
a couple of weeks ago and I was notified that one of the PA sites had been
hacked and my name and SSN was among the data that had been scraped. At
least I got a free year of Experian.

Data lives forever and isn't very well secured.
