      TID: Mystic BBS 1.12 A42       MSGID: 1:275/98 257a63c1       TZUTC: -0400       Hi All,              I have a small question for the community.       Not long ago I picked up a nice looking TRS-80 computer with a matching       TRS-80 Video Display, modem and cassette player/recorder. Display had been       given away for free immediately, because I simply do not have a place for it.       And I am more interested in computer itself.       Now, getting closer to the question I wanted to ask, this computer has a       problem. Before plugging in the original PSU, I checked the output voltages,       and those seemed to be ok. But when I try to turn on the computer, the power       LED turns on for a second, then something clicks inside the computer, and       LED turns off. Second later this cycle repeats.       I haven't opened the case yet, but decided to ask the community first: what       could be causing this problem? Clicking sounds like some kind of relay is       switching off, but I am pretty sure, there should be no mechanical relays       inside. Most probably something is dead/shorted, but why would it produce a       sound then?       Please explain what that could be, so I would start looking at it first after       I open the case.              Thank you.               > Anton Mikhaylov AKA twix <               --- Mystic BBS v1.12 A42 2019/02/01 (Linux/64)        * Origin: twixed BBS (1:275/98)       SEEN-BY: 1/123 14/0 15/0 18/200 19/25 33 36 38 50 90/1 105/81 106/201       SEEN-BY: 106/633 987 116/18 120/331 340 123/131 124/5014 5016 129/305       SEEN-BY: 130/803 135/0 153/7715 154/10 203/0 218/700 221/0 222/2 226/30       SEEN-BY: 227/114 702 229/101 424 426 428 452 700 981 1016 1017 230/150       SEEN-BY: 230/152 240/1120 2100 5138 5411 5824 5832 5853 249/1 206       SEEN-BY: 249/317 400 250/1 261/38 100 266/512 267/155 275/0 89 91       SEEN-BY: 275/93 95 97 98 99 100 201 301 280/464 5003 282/1038 1056       SEEN-BY: 288/100 291/100 111 292/854 301/1 310/31 317/3 320/119 219       SEEN-BY: 322/757 340/400 341/66 342/200 387/25 26 396/45 423/120 460/58       SEEN-BY: 633/280 640/1321 712/848 770/1 801/161 189 2452/250 2454/119       SEEN-BY: 3634/12 5020/1042 5053/58       PATH: 275/98 100 261/38 396/45 280/464 240/5832 229/426           |
