    BK>  Packard Bell was once a respected name in electronics. Even in   
    BK>  computers, at first. Then they came up with some money saving

   The outfit that put the Packard Bell label on its computers was/is totally   
   unrelated   
   to the defunct, highly respected, electronics manufacturer.  It picked up the   
   abandoned   
   trademark and used it.
