TID: Mystic BBS 1.12 A46       MSGID: 1:106/127 5f284004       REPLY: 1:153/757.21@fidonet ec9561f4       TZUTC: -0600       On 19 Jan 2021, August Abolins said the following...        AA> I don't there is any ATM in Canada that offers coins.              I don't know of any ATM that does coins either, That's my overall question on       that subject.               AA> But that is another thing.. eventually I run out of coins. Why         AA> are people hoarding that stuff? My only option is/was to go to         AA> the bank. Now, in light of the recent "by appointment only"         AA> imposition, I have another solution. But maybe I shouldn't         AA> mention it - at least, not yet.        AA>               I know with the supposed coin shortage we had/have here, some stores had some       option on their transactions, I'm not sure what though. I mostly only use       cash at the gas station, since gasoline prices are cheaper when paying cash.               AA> Yes.. my main bank has the "take a pic with your smartphone" and         AA> deposit it that way method. But I don't have a current         AA> smartphone that will support getting apps from the google-store.         AA> I *could* however install the .APK direct, if I could get it.        AA>               It's an option.               AA> CP> checking account was actually called "No check checking."        AA>         AA> OMG. What nonsense in their naming of things just to sound         AA> different and get your attention.              It wasn't a thing I looked for. I was in a work therapy program throygh the       VA hospital, Part of it was a requirement to open the account there. It was       extremely limited, the Debit card only allowed $50/day for example. I       believe it was due to many of the participants were going through drug/acohol       addiction treatment so the limit was to keep them from blowing their mobey on       such things. My own problems are due to anxiety, depression, and something       similar to PTSD, so money management wasn't actually an issue in that way.        AA> Yes.. I have a commercial terminal for that. It accepts         AA> Mastercard, Visa, Debit, and ApplePay. People can also make a         AA> payment online via PayPal or eTransfer too.        AA>               Paypal and the like were what I meant.               AA> Never heard of the LetGo/Offerup alternatives. Maybe it's just a         AA> USA offering.        AA>         AA> They seem to be tied in with specific items for sale. I would         AA> need a simple alternative to just send cash.              LetGo/OfferUp and others are like Online Yard Sale/Flea Market type things,              OfferUp, I believe has options available to pricess payments through them,       but I haven't done much throygh their service.        AA> Another popular service is the Square. It's a pretty good         AA> solution for someone who needs portability.        AA> --              I actually have one of the square devices, somewhere.              --- Mystic BBS v1.12 A46 2020/08/26 (Raspberry Pi/32)        * Origin: theoasisbbs.ddns.net:1357 (1:106/127)       SEEN-BY: 105/81 106/127 129/305 153/757 221/6 229/426 664 700 282/1038       SEEN-BY: 301/1 322/757       PATH: 106/127 221/6 153/757 229/664 426           |
