   I was just (check date stamp here against your logs if interested) trying   
   to log in PETASCII doesn't work (no surprise with my terminal). ASCII   
   give me what looks like a local echo, so I cannot type "GUEST". While   
   ANSI allows to type "GUEST" but then doesn't log me in as guest and asks   
   for a password. I also see some odd characters there.   
      
   I used the Linux telnet client on various ports you provide. TERM here is   
   set to "linux". That usually works with other BBS.
