   128DCR Intermittent lockup(with system o

   Hi All,

One of my 128DCR's has a intermittant related lockup issues.

I have used the article to install cooling fan into power source.
I added a larger PC cooling fan, mounted to front Bezel but in the middle of
the Motherboard (vertically) so the fan can blow air
across the Motherboard. I tied into the power sources 5VDC to power fan. (on
   the power source PCB).
according to how the fan hooks up for the power source.

I checked with Voltage Meter to check power load, that is fine.
I use my V2 SCPU set to about 4.95 for the extra load that load is good.

The guy in Washington that has repaired Commodores for years reccomended since
   this is an intermittant lockup
to use a heat gun (on low setting) use piece of cardboard to isolate each MB
chip, heat it slightly, if You find the faulty
   chip the computer should lockup.

Ahh Carlsen something gee, he told me that intetmittent problems are hard to
isolate because you never know when it will
   occur.

I was hoping for any other feedback from other 128DCR owners that may have had
   the same problem possibly.

Im using the Enhanced SID Stereo Player V10.3
Loading Stereo files even including .WDS files plays okay, but after 128DCR is
warmed up for more than 2 hours
I try to play the NONE stereo SID songs .MUS ir .WDS files the player seems
   to lockup.

If I try to play the same (none Stereo SID) with computer cold it plays okay
   and doesnt lockup.

Using Ray Carlsens suggestion with heat gun, the MMU chip seemed to be faulty,
I replaced it and all seemed fine
of course when the computer has been in for many hours.

   Any feedback on this issue?

Thank you everyone I seem to really like this list you all are so helpful and
to me that is what the scene needs,
   thank you.
