   Hi, Janis...

JK>>> Welcome to all and feel free to post your loves, your hates, your problem
JK>>> your joys regarding your cats, your dogs and just about any pets (well,
JK>>> we can exclude pet rocks? )

JK>> Oh, my own pet rock. I will call him George, and hug him, and squeeze
   JK>> him, and pet him...

JK>haha.. :) Exactly the right wording for that from what I remember :)

Well, there are 2 reasons for that.

First, I saw a drama group perform "Of Mice And Men", by John
Steinbeck, at the University Of Miami, in Coral Gables, Florida, 45
years ago, at a theatre arts festival. In the scene near the end, where
Lenny is "shot" in the back of the head by the other character (I forget
his name), the acting was so good that it stunned the entire theatre.

Second, several of the Looney Tunes (Warner Brothers) and some of the
Tex Avery cartoons had "Lenny" (I think he was the mentally challenged
character) as part of skits. One of the Looney Tunes had it with "The
Abominable Snowman" with Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. The Tex Avery one
had a deal with "Screwy Squirrel" (a new little friend). :P

JK>Meanwhile, my daughter and her boys now own a dog. She's a really cute dog..
JK>not a full-bred - she's all white with slight splotches of light color here
JK>there.. and goblin ears (her terms haha). She's suspected to be part Whippe
   JK>such a good natured girl :)

Whippets are also known as "minature greyhounds". They are hard to
housebreak and are high strung (just like dachshunds). Unlike the
dachshund, the whippet seldom barks. But, both make excellent watchdogs,
and are very loyal to their owners.

We had a male that we gave to greyhound breeders in Harrison in
northwest Arkansas several years ago. They had brought a bitch down, so
they could get acquainted. Well, the dog we had, named Bullet, tried to
make love to this bitch, and she told him (in so many words) that she
wasn't interested in his advances. But, he seemed so sexually
frustrated that "he wanted to whip-it out". :P
