-> wouldn't relax with Toby... he wanted to play so badly, too... He was       dancing       -> around her, like c'mon, c'mon.. but all she'd do was snarl.. really sad :(              -> So next weekend the rescue is going to bring a pile of puppies that should       be       -> ready for adoption by then.. they are lab mixes as well. These guys and       girls              Gee Janis, thats too bad.. I hope all works out in the long run. I never       had that problem, knock on my head (wood). Actually the worst I've sen       is right now, and they are brothers.. They will dog play and wrestle for       just so long, then one nips the other in the wrong place or a little to       rough and You'd swear that we were running dog fights over here with all       the noise they make. Yet they have never really hurt each other. The vet       insists it is just play and it probably is, but I still see a line       between play and fighting in my mind, that is crossed. But if they       aren't hurting each other, what can I do, and not only that. Two minutes       later they are sleeping on one another.              I hope Corri finds a place that suits her. Sometimes it is just like       that.              I don't know that I ever mentioned it here, but years ago, my Father       bought a American Eskimo pup. He was taken away from Mom too soon and       did not learn discipline or how to be a dog. He grew up hyper. To make a       long story short, I mean hyper. You never saw that dog lay down, except       for short periods at night, to sleep. You could walk him five miles and       he'd go out back and chase his tail for another hour. Dad could not       control him or keep up with his energy. He decided he would get rid of       him. Take him to lollypop farm. Well, my Aunt and Uncle came up with an       idea. They had a neighbor whos 11 year old boy was hyperactive. They       asked my Father if they could have the dog to give to him. He did, and       this kid and this dog were a perfect match. They both were inseparable       and both calmed down considerably. The kids parents were amazed how much       the boy had changed, and the kid kept lucky so active, Lucky actually       met his match. They fit together like a hand and a glove, resulting in       both mellowing out and becomming the best of friends.              Have a good one!       Mike                            --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5        * Origin: ::The Holodeck BBS:: telnet//:holodeckbbs.homeip.net (1:261/1381)    |
