|    Cat feeding    |

I saw an interesting little news tidbit this weekend, stuff You may all know,        but I did not. Haven't had cats in years. But still love em.              The story was about cat feeding. It said a cat will eat until it satifies        it's nutritional needs, not just it's need to satiate hunger. The example        they gave was that one should not skimp on food cost, as it could affect the        cat and how much it eats. In other words, feeding a cat a more expensive food        containing more meat than veggie or grain fillers is better than feeding them        one containing these products. A food should definitely be more than half,        protein. It also should contain Taurine which cats need to digest the        protein. So a cat will eat a lot more food with filler, than it would a        quality food that is mostly protein. This is why, the reporter claims cats        get fat, as they eat more to take care of their nutritional needs. So if a        kibble is less protein, The cat will eat more, which brings on more calories        and still will not give the basic protein that they use most readily. They        said read the label and make sure more than half protein and added taurine is        the best food for a cat and their metabolisms. I found that interesting. I        mean I knew they liked meat, but did not know they could get most benefit by        eating meat. I also did not know if the internal ability to realize just how        much they need to eat to fulfill their Nutritional Needs.              Just some worthless information, I found interesting.
