Aw.. understand though.. some times things just don't mesh.

Nope, not yet.. the Cayuga rescue (in Ithaca) didn't work out at all.. I was
really bothered by this chick's attitude over there. She called me on the
phone to discuss "Toby" because before they'll even do a home visit, or let
you see the dog you want to adopt, they have to investigate 'everything'.. ok,
normally, I'd say, no problem.. what the heck ... but she just went on this
rant on the phone because I told her that Toby barks at strangers when they
come to the door ("don't you know how to train our dog???" argh!!! be real!) -
meanwhile she totally ignored the fact that he lets the cats eat of his dish
with him, never had a problem with the grandkids taking his dish from him - I
mean toby is the most laid back dog, just like Priscilla was.. that's why I
   picked him..

Finally, the real issue to me came out.. no where on their page did they
mention that puppy had been mistreated badly.. I never would have looked at
it if I'd known that.. not with our grandkids that come around here.. :( But
she let it slip in our conversation.. at that point I said, forget it, thanks
   for calling.

Now we're looking to hear from this other fellow here in binghamton who has a
full-breed female 7 month old lab that was mistreated.. she's reportedly very
low-status, submissive. She might work out. I'll have to be careful when I
   try to judge her personality..

   Take care,
   Janis
