   Hi Mike,

   >> I think our yellow longhair male cat (who looks exactly like
   >> full-breed Maine Coon Cat) has decided to move on to another home, was
   >> swiped by strangers or 'gotten' by coyotes.

   >> It's sickening to me that he's stayed away this long so I figure the
   >> worst has happened to him.. it's been at least a month now since he's
   >> come home.

   > Really sorry to hear that Janis.. I hope somehow, someway he is with
   > someone else and is being cared for. And hopefully can and will return
   > back home.

Thanks Mike, that's what I'm hoping as well. This is the same cat that got
loose when we moved from Windsor to Ithaca.. we had to have someone catch him
in a have-a-heart trap then.. We'd go back to Windsor often since we're still
working on the house, so I'd see him in the distance.. I'd call him and he was
so badly reverted to his original Feral nature, he'd just run in the opposite
direction.. :( If someone did swipe him, hopefully he'll remember us when he
gets the chance to 'escape' .

   >I may be a wuss when it comes to this, but having pets get
   > out of a fenced in yard and wander off has at times driven me crazy.

   Yeah, same here.

   > Almost like a kid running away. It can be nervewracking. One of my pugs,
   > got out a month ago. Sees a rabbit and no fence stops him. He somehow

We're all hoping Leo just took after some rabbit or some such here.. If I
hadn't heard those darn coyotes howling like crazy one night soon after he
first "left", it wouldn't be so bad .. darn. I was warned about the coyotes
here too.. but you know, sometimes you just can't keep an animal inside, no
   matter how hard you try.

   > lucky, another time someone did pick him up and take him. In the
   > neighborhood and I saw her walking him and she hollered at me for
   > letting him run around. ( which I did not, he got out, was not let out )
   > I was so glad to see him, I just let her yell and get it off her chest
   > and took him home.

Geez, I bet you were tempted to scream right back, "you had to know this was
MY dog, not yours".. Geez, people are a trip sometimes.

   > Hopefully the cat was picked up too, and is waiting
   > for his chance to get out and come back home. And I know that is not much
   > consolation.. It is a helpless feeling. Keep us posted..

It sure does feel helpless.. but I'll keep calling him.. who knows.

   Take care,
   Janis
