I can't say about frontline. I do know that I have read       > elsewhere, maybe even in the doghouse fido echo, that Frontline did not work,       > even according to some vets.              Interesting.. I suppose it might be related to where one is located? who       knows.. I mean, it worked for years over here. This summer though was a       complete disaster :(              You know you get kind of tired of dogs itching, and biting their butts Lol       Poor guy :(              > I can say, not from any previous knowledge, only the advice of my Vet, that I       > have used Advantix for a long time and never have had any problems       > whatsoever.              That's good. I saw your other note, I'll reply to that in a bit.              > vet did pull a fast one on me with the two pups ( now actually 3 yrs ). Upon a closer look it was a       > declaration of doing that, but the fine print said that the meds "had" bought       > on a monthly basis "from the vet".              Geez, that's swell, what a pia! You probably remember what we went through       with Priscilla's meds before she died.. that was incredible.. the local vet at       the time refusing to give us a prescription for a pain killer for her because       he insisted we buy from him (at twice the cost of 800petmeds :().. After we       got him to agree to give us ONE prescription that we could mail to 800Petmeds       we switched vets. Dr. John, our vet after that, is happy to sell us the meds       at the same price as 800Petmeds or give us a prescription.                     > It is like a guaranteed income every month       > for the animal hospital. I don't like that, but will admit that my vet will       > go out of her way to supply the meds in a manner in which I get a reduced       > price, like buy 3 months worth and get one free.              That's something at least.. That other guy we were dealing with didn't want to       give any kind of breaks.. just doubled the darn price!              > If it is too pricey for that       > month, she will put the meds under one dogs name and that way I get 4 doses,       > so it is two months dose for each dog, instead of having to by 3 months for       > each dog to get the 4th free. It can really help as these can be expensive to       > buy multiple months at a time.              Yeah.. for while I considered buying the "large" dog treatement size that I       buy for Toby (Over 100 lbs.) and splitting those extra treatments on the       pups.. but who what's to get involved in measuring that stuff.. |
