So, I switched to that.              RM> Was that a full phone plan, unlimited everything in       RM> Canada, and the Data?              AA>Yep.. the full enchilada. Actually, the $29/mo plan was only        >intended for new customers, and they had accidentally included        >it for existing customers to pick.              I think I remember seeing that one listed but saw that it was       for new customers only. It seems to me I looked into new plans       offered a while after you did, after you told me about them,       and by then it wasn't offered to existing customers.              AA>Yep.. Lucky still seems to disfavour existing (long-time)        >customers!              Yes, I feel the same way about Satellite TV service, they should       add bonus channels or lower prices to customers who stay with       them for years. If you threaten to quit they often give you a       super deal for several months or a year, but you shouldn't have       to go through that when paying $100 for a fairly basic package.              Lucky bugs me a bit because they never tell you when they bring       out better deals, you have to find them yourself and I rarely       go to their site. If things are working I just pay the bill.              AA>Lucky recently dropped and USA calling from their base plans.        >Now, USA calling is an "extra" minimum $10/mo.              Oh, I hadn't heard that yet either. I currently have no need for       USA calling but it was a cheap bonus to upgrade from my $35 plan       to the $40 plan which gave something like 80 Gig of data plus       unlimited USA.              AA>Yep.. I had a couple landlines to my house, and they were        >around $25-$29 before tax too. I was surpised that the minimum        >for *new* Bell landline customers was $60-$80! ..so I hung on        >the landlines. But the constant reoccurrence of buzz and hum        >twice a year (sping and fall - two very wet seasons) started to        >drive me crazy. As soon as I learned that a landline phone can        >be "ported" to cell (ie. without losing the original number) I        >went for it! But now at $29/mo I get unlimited canada-wide        >calling, +vmail + callforwarding, callwaiting.. etc, that the        >landline did not have.              Yes, it's amazing when you think back. Back in the 90's when I       had to call long distance to access a Global BBS it was always       a rush to do the exchange and get off because I was paying about       45c a minute for the call.              In the past 5 years I've had Bell in twice because of noisy       lines so it's not quite as bad as yours. Back when I was using       dial-up that was a real problem though.              ---        * SLMR Rob * Lots of new mail; I musta said something stupid yesterday        * Origin: capitolcityonline.net * Telnet/SSH:2022/HTTP (1:2320/105)       SEEN-BY: 105/81 106/201 128/187 129/14 305 153/7715 154/110 218/700       SEEN-BY: 226/30 227/114 229/110 275 300 307 317 426 428 664 700 705       SEEN-BY: 291/111 292/854 320/219 322/757 396/45 460/58 712/848 902/26       SEEN-BY: 2320/0 105 304 5020/400 5075/35       PATH: 2320/105 229/426           |
