Are you still at the        WD> "Daddy brings home the bacon" level? That's pre-historic.              Some companies in Canada do offer a maternity leave and        compensations. The gov't does too - for up to 6 months if I        recall, or even up to a year.              Paternity leave is also now a thing.              Here in Canada there are clever persons just fine with the        gov't supporting their predicaments as unwed/single parent, no-        income, etc.                      WD> The system is pretty straightforward. [...]        WD> [...] When the stay-at-home person returns to the        WD> job, the fill-in person has had the opportunity to get        WD> work-experience and stands a better chance of applying for        WD> a job ...               WD> Some people call it a win-win ...              Some of the new dads or mams don't even bother returning to        their previous employer, and basically run with the money.              I was asked by a previous employee to keep her on the payroll        long enough so that she could qualify for the minimum 52 weeks        of employment when I bought a business in which she was        previously employed. She got her gov't-paid maternity leave,        so did her partner, and she never returned to work (either it        was her choice or simply a logistical matter after she had        moved to be closer to her mother). It wasn't a win-win for me        at all.               AA>> Enough to know that regular consumption is not good for the        AA>> body.               WD> Canadian beer is very good at cleansing the urinary tract.              Yeah.. perhaps that is needed to remove the sludge that your        altenative beers create.              --         ../|ug              --- OpenXP 5.0.57        * Origin: Stare into this point intently ->.<- (1:153/757.21)       SEEN-BY: 15/0 105/81 106/201 124/5016 129/305 134/100 153/0 141 143       SEEN-BY: 153/149 757 6809 7715 203/0 218/840 220/70 221/0 6 226/17       SEEN-BY: 226/30 227/114 229/110 111 112 113 275 307 317 426 428 470       SEEN-BY: 229/664 700 240/1120 250/8 267/800 280/464 5003 282/1038       SEEN-BY: 292/854 8125 301/1 310/31 317/3 320/219 322/757 341/66 234       SEEN-BY: 396/45 423/120 633/280 712/848 770/1 100 340 772/210 220       SEEN-BY: 772/230 2320/105 3634/24       PATH: 153/757 280/464 770/1 317/3 229/426           |
