TID: Mystic BBS 1.12 A49       MSGID: 1:229/134 57da5bf2       TZUTC: -0500       Today marks BBS day, the anniversary of a milestone in online communication       history. On February 16 1978 the first public dial-up bulletin board system,       CBBS (Computerized Bulletin Board System), went live in Chicago. CBBS was       created by Ward Christensen and Randy Suess so that hobbyists could exchange       messages and files using modems long before the internet was widely available.       CBBS inspired tens of thousands of other BBSes and laid the foundation for       digital forums, message networks like FidoNet, and many aspects of today's       online communities.              Happy BBS day to everyone still keeping the old school spirit alive!              --- Mystic BBS v1.12 A49 2024/05/29 (Linux/64)        * Origin: The Montreal Greek Times (1:229/134)       SEEN-BY: 105/81 106/201 128/187 129/14 305 153/7715 154/110 218/700       SEEN-BY: 226/30 227/114 229/110 112 134 200 206 300 317 400 426 428       SEEN-BY: 229/470 664 700 705 266/512 291/111 292/854 320/219 322/757       SEEN-BY: 342/200 396/45 460/58 633/280 712/848 902/26 5020/400 5075/35       PATH: 229/134 426           |
