   well there WERE exploits released to get into windows xp and windows 7 easily.   
   luckily if you kept it updating and didn't disable anything that wasn't   
   possible or atleast harder for attackers.  people were holding onto xp for so   
   long so microsoft kept sending some updates for quite some time.
