   i had a look after i had written my previous message... GIGO and friends are   
   OS/2 but the sources for at least GIGO are available and may be portable to   
   winwhatever... i don't know... there are others available but i do not know   
   them... pcmike (aka mike ehlert at pcmicro) might have some ideas, though...

   no, it is best to do that before the messages are posted to the JAM base...   
      
   1. tool downloads news and filters the posts by its killfile   
   2. filtered .bag files are processed by conversion software to PKTs   
   3. your normal FTN tosser tosses the filtered converted messages to whatever   
   message base format your system uses
