RW> The last time I talked to Ray I told him about Blue Lion and he said that       RW> if there was enough interest, he would consider resurrecting SIO or       RW> SIO2K.              Is Blue Lion version 2.2? If so, I am running one of the latest 2.2 betas       over here with SIO with no problems.              Actually, this is the first version of OS/2 that has a pretty stable Samba       sharing build in. There was serious bugs in EVFS which would cause OS/2 to       crash randomly when mapping a share to another system.              That seems to be mostly fixed in 2.2 with one minor caveat. If you have a       mapped drive from 2.2 to lets say Windows 7. Then you reboot the Windows 7 VM       or system - 2.2 will crash with a JFS error.              It happens consistantly and probably another issue with EVFS. Minor, since if       I reboot that VM, I will just reboot OS/2 afterwards. Much better than random       issues that were happening before all the time.               I could map drives for the BBS *FROM* Windows 7 to OS/2 - no stability issues.       It was only when it was from OS/2 to Windows.              It wasn't a Samba bug, but EVFS. There is also a big bug in OS/2 2.1 - where       the DOS session copy command will not work (will error). You can only copy       via OS/2 command prompt. That is also fixed in 2.2.              - Mark              --- WWIVToss v.1.51         * Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (1:261/1304.0)    |
