To: Netsurge       Ne> I am thinking of creating a jabber server for the bbs-scene.org       Ne> community. The inital idea is to have a xmpp federated server that people       Ne> could use as a chat server and integrate it with the irc.bbs-scene.org       Ne> IRC network so that people could chat and send/get PMs. Then the       Ne> lightbulb went off.       Ne>        Ne> I'd be willing to open it up for bbs software developers to use if they       Ne> wish to integrate it with their bbs packages. Essentially make one big       Ne> global chat system for bbses.              Yes and no, and more no, IMHO. Yes it would be cool. That's about it for       that side of my argument. lol              No because IRC would be even more dead than it already is. If IRC is our #1       means of chat/contact with others that use the bbs-scene.org technology, we       shouldn't step on it's feet, so to speak.. It's one or the other, for me..       and I'm already choosing IRC since I haven't used a IM client in years and       don't care to. :)              --- Mystic BBS v1.10 A20 (Linux)        * Origin: thePharcyde_ http://www.pharcyde.org (Wisconsin) (77:1/130.1)              --- Internet Rex 2.29        * Origin: The gateway at Diskshop BBS (1:250/8.1)    |
