   Hi there,

   > Hello. This is my first post. I used to run a BBS in the 90s. I'd love to
   >set one up now. But I'm wondering a few things. Due to severe bandwidth limits
   >in the Rural area I am I would love to know if Fidonet would allow me to host

You should be able to set up the BinkD mailer there in Iowa to get and send
echomail and netmail - the bandwidth is incredibly low for messages, so it
shouldn't cause a problem. As far as using a remote server, sure you can do
that but it's probably going to cost you some. Also, if you still have a
   modem
around, you can dial up or have mail delivered to you from a number of
   systems,
mine included. I send a bunch of modem feeds mail/files since I've already
   got
a dialing plan in use that enables free calls all over the U.S.

If you'd like to get a fidonet node number just go to this link, and fill out
   the application http://www.filegate.net/zone1/

The link for the application is on that main page.. there are help files for a
number of internet mailers in the links section on the right side of the page.

   Take care,
   Janis
