Hi Niels,              > I'm currently trying to get my BBBS connected to FIDONET but there is some       > confusion regarding the way echomails / netmails are being sent. Is this done       > by BBBS itself (using bbbs bogus)              bbbs bogus r/w checks for new messages and packs it according to your setup       of archivers (external.bbb archiver section)              > or do I need to have something like BinkD       > running in order to transport mails to my uplink node?              You can run bbbs's built in binkp mailer. You can call it like this in a       script with all the other daemons, see the asterisks for the section below       that is for the binkp mailer:              =====cut here======       #/bin/sh       cd /home/bbbs       # ****************       ./bbbsd 3 15 telnetd:23 httpd:8080 ftpd:60721 rawd:24555:binkp "quiet" "fork"       "uid:"bbs &       #       #line above wraps       =======cut here=====                     In the line above 3 15 represents the starting node number and the last node       number. If you are using the shareware (not registered yet) version, the       numbers would be              ./bbbsd 1 2 (two nodes IIRC).              I ran bbbs with the two free nodes for a while until I was sure it could do       everything I needed :)              The numbers following the daemons are the ports I am running the various       daemons on, like 23 for telnet, 60721 for ftpd, 8080 for httpd, 24555 for       binkp.              Using nonstandard ports or bbbs's daemons allows me to run programs like       apache on port 80, and proftpd on port 21, on my linux box.              You don't have to run all of bbbs's daemons of course, I don't run them all        |
