   question is does bbbs have the proper permissions to create these files in

   i don't run bbbs but this permissions problem happens on a lot of systems for   
   a variety of reasons...   
      
     eg: installing binkd on a *nix system from a package and needing   
         logs and mail bundles to be available for it and other software.
