|    Note from Kim regarding BBBS and NetFoss    |

Kim sent me this email this morning:              ===cut here===       Hi all,              After 4 months I finally had time to take a deeper look at this.              > Have you had a chance to allow BBBS for Windows to pass the telnet       > socket handle to a DOS door?              BBBS is using BBBSD, which is inetd-alike daemon accepting incoming       telnet and acting as a gateway to BBBS. It's BBBSD that has socket handle, not       BBBS. So basically, it's impossible.              Options here are:              1) NetFoss could support BBBSD-communication, which is mapfiles. I do NOT       recommend this.              2) Rudi could use NetSerial or similar program instead of BBBSD. He can still       use BBBSD for outgoing binkp, incoming email etc, but not for incoming telnet.       He probably should use BBBS/D with NetSerial and BBBS/W with BBBSD. This is       the recommended way.       ===cut here===              Take care,       Janis              --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-1        * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38)    |
