   Hi Rich,

   > I had my mail events setup as a cron job... didn't work out too well. Seems
   >that if bbbsrun.c is present in the bbbs/work directory the cron job won't run

   That is an example of why I started using Cronjobs, and commented out all
   other scanning/packing in the script that runs the bbs nodes.. (like my modem
   line script, and also node2's dialout script). Do you have scanning/tossing
   in them?

   Cron is the only place it is run, every 45 min

   */45 * * * * /home/bbbs/mailin.sh
   42 13-14 * * *  /home/bbbs/getnews.sh

   ==getnews.sh==
   ./bbbs bnntp w 1 news.mixmin.net  [<--you don't need this obviously] ./bbbs
   bnntp r 1 news.mixmin.net  [<--or this] ./bbbs bogus r
   ./bbbs btick
   ===========

   Note the different times these are run, so they don't "clash"

   > On to having it toss / scan after a mail delivery or user logs off. I figured
   >that if I had a fidopoll.bz file under linux it would work... unless my comman
   > line is wrong..

   > This is what I have...:
   > // #include
   > {
   > char up;
   > {
   > up=sprintf("\\home\\richringer\\bbbs\\mailin.sh");}
   > }
   > I took the onde from my Windows setup and edited it to call the linux script.

   > Did I go about this the wrong way?

   Well, I don't think you need the double \\ in the path.. on your linux system,
   you would use a line like this I expect:

   "up=sprintf("/home/richringer/bbbs/mailin.sh"

   But that line doesn't also deal with mail out scanning... which the original
   script seems to also take into account

   int main(int direction, int status, char aka) { [...]

   I've never used the scripts in the script/ directory to toss/scan mail
   though.. Maybe Jame will let us know how he tosses/scans mail on his linux
   system.

   > I did notice a gotmail.bz and gotmail.bzb...

   Well, I would copy any file I changed from it's original to something like
   gotmail.bz-old first . Just in case there is an example gotmail.bz
   script in sysop.gui and sysop.txt.

   Take care,
   Janis
