   Hi Rich,

   Btw, if you want to run those scripts from cron, this is user bbs's cronfile
   for tossing mail. The first line sends an email to bbs@filegate.net's email
   folder when the job is run:

   === "cronfile.bbs"===
   MAILTO=bbs@filegate.net
   */45 * * * * /home/bbbs/mailin.sh # toss mail
   42 13-14 * * * /home/bbbs/getnews.sh # pack mail
   =====end cronfile.bbs======

   Scanning and packing is done I get in newsgroups from mixmin.net, a free
   newsgroup server.

   =="getnews.sh"==
   #!/bin/sh
   cd /home/bbbs
   ./bbbs bnntp w 1 news.mixmin.net
   ./bbbs bnntp r 1 news.mixmin.net
   ./bbbs bogus r
   ==end getnews.sh==

   To set up picking up newsgroups, you have to set the NNTP host in bcfg4
   ->conferences to the number of the host (like 1 if you only use 1 host):

   Global: Conferences
   [...]
    NNTPhost: 1
   [...]
   [X] Fido area (make sure this is set to gate the newsgroup)

   Your best bet is to read about bnntp in sysop.gui :) That will show you all
   the commands, for bnntp.

   bbs@filegate:~$ ./bbbs bnntp

   Usage: BBBS BNNTP W [host0] {host1} {host2} {...} Receive news from hosts
    BBBS BNNTP R [host0] {host1} {host2} {...} Send news to hosts
    BBBS BNNTP Z [host0] {host1} {host2} {...} Reset "want" pointers
    BBBS BNNTP S [host] [localname] [#_of_msgs] Set "want" pointer
    BBBS BNNTP C [host] [localname] [#_of_msgs] Set "want", no dupes
    BBBS BNNTP G [host] [filename] Get arealist
    BBBS BNNTP L Export conf->email msgs

   Take care,
   Janis
