     You might should try a symbolic link from libcrypto.so to libcrypto.so.0.9.8   
   (or libcrypto.so.1.0.0?); IIRC, that's what I needed to get it to work when   
   configured for SSL ports. (Now on a 64 bit Debian v7 system, with the beta;
