run "locate libcrypto" and see what you find... all we're interested in is the
   version numbers...

my ubuntu lucid (10.04 LTS) gives me this...

   locate libcrypto

   /lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8
   /lib/i486/libcrypto.so.0.9.8
   /lib/i586/libcrypto.so.0.9.8
   /lib/i686/cmov/libcrypto.so.0.9.8
   /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8

what i'm thinking is that your bbbs is looking for 10 but your system has
10.xx or higher installed... how to handle this is another matter, though...
you do not want to downgrade libcrypto... that's for sure... that means that
bbbs needs to be built against the newer version or it needs to be built
monothicly (all libraries in the executable instead of using external so
   libraries)...
