Hi Robert,              > Hi all! I would like to set access restrictions to a couple of my message       > bases and for the life of me I am not able to figure out how to do that.       >Several of my message bases are for my eyes only and not for the general publi       > and I would like to have those particular bases set up like that. If anyone       >could point me into the right direction (as searching the manual did not yield       > any results) that would be greatly appreciated.              There may be better ways to do this, but the way I do it is in the groups file:              Towards the bottom of the file, there is a conference access section                     conference access                     Z1C@:all       Z1C@rw:fsysop       [...]              The above prevents bbs users from reading that area, and only I can read and       post there.              Now anyone can still link to this area as a downlink with this, so I gave the       area a key that only Zone 1 downlinks get, like R for instance. Anyone with       the R key can send in an areafix request to add it.              You could set up a group called myechos and add individual users to that area,       as well.              Hope this helps :)              Take care,       Janis              --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-1        * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38)    |
