Hi Robert,              >> From sysop.txt and sysop.gui:              > You should know by now I never, ever read these things :)              LOL :) :)              >> "If your news server require you can replace host with host, username or       >> host, username, password to send extra authinfo commands."              >> so when I needed to specify username/passwords, I did it like this:              >> #!/bin/sh       >> cd /home/bbbs       >>./bbbs bnntp w 1 host, username, password ./bbbs bnntp r 1 host, username, passwo       >> ./bbbs bogus r              I think I got the order wrong above.. see below :)              >> Make sure you set up the areas you get in bcfg4->conference-> NNTPhost: [1]       >> (host number 1) before you start importing the messages..       >> Hope that helps :)              > Actually, for my link to Eternal September, this should work out well.              Good :)              >However, I don't believe news.ecomstation.nl requires a username or password t       > post. I will, though, double check on this today and verify that statement       > just to be on the safe side.              I think my original script that I used had a similar situation as yours.. This       one got news from 3 sources, only one required the username/password:              #!/bin/sh       cd /home/bbbs       ./bbbs bnntp w 1 host.echoes.net simsbury.net,uname,pw snippets.org ./bbbs       bnntp r 1 host.echoes.net simsbury.net,uname,pw snippets.org ./bbbs bogus r              I.e. only snippets.org required the auth. IIRC. Now I'm using a free news       server at minmix.net or something like that :)              > As always, thanks, Janis :)              No problem :)              Take care,       Janis              --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-1        * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38)    |
