   FWIW: i learned this the same way you are... i tried it and when i ran into   
   problems, i researched and asked others... in fact, i have (or had), somewhere   
   around here, some registry tweaks that would allow for more connections... i   
   just don't recall if they were only for w98 or if i also made them on w2k...   
   there was a tool that i got some time back when i was participating more on   
   dslreports.com... that tool was to help one to get the best transfers out of   
   their machine and connection... but things have changed in my setup now and   
   there's a whole different set of items i have to handle since my winboxen are   
   not the only ones using the connection ;)
