|    Polling a Node?    |

Hi Jeff,              >I have noticed a situation regarding polling that I was curious about. I have       > setup a system on another PC here. I have added the necessary [Node Remap]       > connection info.              > The problem is that if I do a manual poll as in Alt-P the poll is executed as       > expected. Once completed it is executed again, and again, and again,...              >I am forced to terminate the poll by issuing the command bbbs bom d .       > At which point the polling terminates.              > The question that occurs to me is BBBS is possibly not seeing the poll as       >successful and continues to keep trying. Or, the polled system isn't respondin       > in a manner that BBBS sees as successful and so BBBS retries.              > Anyone else seen this type of behavior?              It happens here once in a while... not that often. It happens to my bbbs       mailer when it cannot complete the transfer. Typically it is because of some       problem with the node bbbs is trying to dial - it could be any one of the       following:              #The node bbbs is trying to dial has it's own problems and needs to       be reset by the sysop... [often]       #There was some typo in external.bbb's remap section [ok, I'm not perfect |
