   this sounds like you guys are looking for something like RemoteAccess' CTRL-A   
   character... in RA's docs, i find this in the "External Support Files"   
   section... in our editor(s), we generally have to CTRL-P first and then enter   
   the code for the character we want... so the "wait for keypress" character is   
   CTRL-A so we hit CTRL-P and then CTRL-A (or ALT-1)... of course we'd have some   
   text in front of that smiley face telling the user what to do... either plain   
   text like   
      
      press any key CTRL-A   
      
   or using one of our internal prompts like this...   
      
      CTRL-K]258CTRL-A   
      
   which would use language prompt 258 from the language file of the currently   
   chosen language the user is using... both of those CTRL strokes are preceeded   
   by CTRL-P in the editors i use...   
      
   dunno if the above helps narrow down where you might look, though... maybe it   
   will cause a synapse to fire and trigger a spark of memory as to what it may   
   be called in your software IF is has this capability...
