Hello Nicholas,                     >> cadams@irc:/var/opt/bbbs$ ./bcfg4 0              >> -bash: ./bcfg4: No such file or directory              >> cadams@irc:/var/opt/bbbs$              > You could try one of two things:       > Try running bcfg4 with sudo, ie: "sudo ./bcfg4 0" (just as a test). If this       > works, then below would most likely apply.       >Try copying the bbbs directory to /home/cadams and running these there without       >sudo and as owner cadams (again as a test). You may not be able to own/execute       > with other users besides root in your /var directory.               From Chad's post I concluded that he had installed BBBS to the /var/opt/bbbs       directory. If that was the case it would have explained why he was having       ownership/permission issues.              > In Jeff's post, he       >mentioned having the archive extracted in /var/opt, but he's actually executin       >these files from /home/bbbs in which everything there is owned by bbbs:bbbs, i       > I read correctly.              No, actually I installed BBBS here in the /home/bbbs directory. In part to to       avoid any ownership issues since everything in BBBS's home directory is owned       by the user "bbbs". With BBBS the only time root access might be required is       when loading bbbsd so that it can bind to the necessary <1024 ports. And even       that can be avoided through port mapping.                     Jeff                     --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Toy-3        * Origin: The Ouija Board (1:282/1031)    |
