|    BBBS and New Hardware?    |
|    16 May 15 00:31:50    |
Hi Jeff,              > I was wondering if anyone has any info on how BBBS works with new(er) PC       > hardware. I am in the process of building a new PC with todays available       > hardware. I will be installing 64 bit Ubuntu on the PC. Currently the PC will       > have a SSD boot drive and 2-4 TB's of SATA storage, an 8 or 10 core processor       >and a minimum of 16G's of Ram. I don't plan on playing any games or the like s       > the video will be a modest PCIe card with 2G onboard. I realize that       >BBBS depends alot on the OS for hardware compatibility. But to the degree that       > BBBS interacts with the PC hardware itself I was curious if there are any       >issues or limitations. I had noticed some minor issues with USB drivers and GU       > issues with previous installs of Ubuntu. Anyone have any thoughts?              Sounds like it will be a nice system :)              On my Ubuntu 12.04.5 linux system, I'm running the beta dada-2 here (I think       you are also?).. and I've not had any problems with libs, etc. This system is       pretty "new"... I think my other system died sometime last year. So anyway,       yes, this is an HP's Envy beatsaudo with core I5, 2T for drive space, 11G       mem... no problem with bbbs at all... I just copied the beta on the new system       and it "goes" |
