Hi Folks,              I'm trying to put this regular expression in the trashcan file to prevent new       users from logging in with the same first and last name:              This string works when I grep two identical words in a file name testname.txt:              ===testname.txt=====       joe joe       same name       joe name       fred fred       ========end testname.txt              grep -E '(\<.*\>)( )+\1' testname.txt joe joe       fred fred              I put the expression              '(\<.*\>)( )+\1'              in the trashcan file, but I was still able to log in as a supposed new user       with the same first and last name..              Any ideas on what I'm messing up here? :)              Thanks for any help :)              Take care,       Janis              --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-1        * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38)    |
