|    BBBS and Telnet Logins?    |
|    28 Jan 15 16:11:08    |
Hi Jeff,              > In BBBS is it possible to limit the time BBBS will wait at a telnet login       > prompt before the login is aborted and the node closed?              That's a good question... Did you hear back from Kim about that?              > Is there a way in BBBS to limit or prevent BBBS from opening up all available       > nodes via telnet or FTP login attempt? Currently BBBS opens up all available       > nodes based on a single incoming telnet IP.              I looked at my logs and the version I'm running doesn't do that from what I       can tell.. For instance, I ran a grep of an IP that had connected via telnet,       didn't log in, then disconnected, and I only found this IP in one log, which I       assumed meant he'd only connected to one node. What do your logs show? Do       you see the same IP in all logs like log3, log4, log5, etc. (or how ever many       nodes you are running?) With previous versions I ran, it was the same I       believe. I'm running the Linux version over here.              This is an example of one of those type connections today:              150128 14:36 Got telnet from 1.254.29.237:52931, spawning node 15.       150128 14:37 Closing telnet at node 15, 0kB in, 0kB out.              It would seem that only node 15 was opened above...              Take care,       Janis              --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-2        * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38)    |
