|    BBBS and Telnet Logins?    |
|    28 Jan 15 13:09:46    |
Hello All,              As I have mentioned recently I have been one of a number of SysOp's that have       been subject to telnet login attacks via IP. This is not a fault of BBBS as       other BBS/Mailer software have recieved the same attacks. I opened up port 23       in Radius the other day and within 2 minutes one incomming telnet IP opened up       15 sessions. Most IP's are based in China, with some from Korea, and a few       from Mexico. In checking the IP's I bet I have added 1000 IP's to my Inet file       in the last week to be blocked. I have a file of all China based IP's but am       reluctant to block China as a whole because of the actions of a relatively       small number of people.              In BBBS is it possible to limit the time BBBS will wait at a telnet login       prompt before the login is aborted and the node closed?              Is there a way in BBBS to limit or prevent BBBS from opening up all available       nodes via telnet or FTP login attempt? Currently BBBS opens up all available       nodes based on a single incoming telnet IP.              Jeff              --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-2        * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38)    |
