Hi Niels!

   > Hello and a slightly delayed 'happy new year' to all of you.

I'm still recovering from the Holidays

   > I've got a
   >question regarding zmodem uploads. On my system, I've created a directory name
   >'test'. If I log in and CD to that directory, then upload a file to this 'test
   > directory, it doesn't show up there. Instead, the file is located in the
   > 'incoming' directory.

Right.. in a sense, it's for your protection when a file is uploaded.

   > Now, how do I tell bbbs to put uploads into the currently selected directory?

For the sysop, use filedirg.000 to define the file directories and give the
sysop RW access in those areas.. like this for example:

   / /home/ftp/pub Root directory
   /incoming /home/bbbs/pub/incoming @rw:fsysop New uploaded stuff
   /utilities /home/ftp/pub/util/ @rw:fsysop @r:all [UTILITIES]

So here, incoming is where anything uploaded by users ends up, to be moved
later by the sysop to where he/she wants it.

If the sysop wants to, he or she can upload to /utilites since the sysop has
RW privs... users can only read (download).

If you wanted to, you could make the users persmissions in your file
directories r/w also but that's kind of dangerous I would think.

   Does this help Niels?

   Take care,
   Janis
