   Don't bother, I think I've found the solution this morning by using a shell   
   script as a wrapper to call the actual nethack binary. Way, way back I think   
   this was not neccessary with BBBS but my memory may fool me here.

   Ah, another classic - thanks for reminding me. I also plan to run the Linux   
   native door games "U-boat" and "Sherlock Holmes".
