   Hi! Roger,

On Sun, 30 Jun 13, you wrote to me:

PQ>>RN> Voyager 1 Approaches Interstellar Space
PQ>> It is always great to hear news of the Voyager craft, even the
PQ>> second time around. (Is this not a dupe from just the other
    PQ>> day?)

RN> It read familiar to me, too.

It was exactly the same as your earlier copy, 'MSGID: 1:3828/7 a4064665'.
   Maybe DeeBwidge misplaced it?

RN> I believe there is still some debate by the scientific community as to
RN> whether V'ger has actually left the Solar System.

To my simplistic way of thinking, they left the Solar System when they
traversed the Oort cloud. Anything since is just idle drooling by
   propeller-head NASA geeks.

RN> I do recall an article about it from early December of last year.
RN> Would you like me to reprint it?

No thanks. Not required, as it's here still ('Voyager 1 Tastes Interstellar
Space'). I have posts dating back to December 2005 herewith.

RN> Also, I read many, many years ago about some scientist's theory about
RN> the jump to outer space. I don't recall who it was or even if it was
RN> factual because I read a lot of science fiction back then. It had to
RN> do with the "space jump" and how nothing living would survive it, but
RN> they (presumably humans) would return to life a short time later when
RN> the jump was complete. I think it was called the theory of the space
RN> warp or something like that.

This sounds very much like 1940s-ish SF. (Quite similar to the hype
surrounding breaking the sound 'barrier'.) Send more, over...

   Cheers,
   Paul.
