Hi! Roger,              In a message to Roy Witt you wrote:               RW>> And the southern star?               RN> Do you mean the one with Ursula Andress in it? (-:              The only 'southern star' that comes immediately to mind is Belle Starr. Did       she ever play that part? She certainly was /equipped/ for it. :-)              We don't actually have a star that provides the same function as Polaris.        Instead we rely on some geometrical juggery-pokery, using the axis of the       Southern Cross & a cross-sectioning of the two 'pointer' stars (i.e. the       Centauri pair). The *intersection* of the elongated axis of the Cross, down       to the horizon, and a line drawn from the bi-sectioning of a (imaginary) line       between the pointers, down to the horizon, indicates South.              Cheers,       Paul.              ... A clear conscience is merely the result of bad memory.       --- Paul's Win98SE VirtualBox        * Origin: Quinn's Post - Maryborough, Queensland, OZ (3:640/384)    |
