   We don't have advance voting where I live, but I voted an absentee   
   ballot last week.  I was supposed to be out of town this week, serving   
   another civic duty - I was called for federal jury duty in Birmingham   
   (about 90 miles away).  I thought it was funny that by registering to   
   vote, I was required to be out of town on voting day!   
      
   My jury duty was cancelled, so I will be home after all, but I already   
   sent in my ballot.  I did like being able to sit down with the ballot   
   and do a little research as I went through it.  I usually find the   
   sample ballot on the web and do some research, but I did a little more   
   than usual this time.
