   Yes.  Yes, I understand that.  And I recognize my error.  So, I am going to    
   take this moment to simpy apologize to Duggy.  I'm sorry.   
      
   My initial thought (upon realizing my error) was that I couldn't believe I'd    
   reacted the way I did.  My thought was that I seem to be experiencing    
   something I'm going to dub "Irony Fatigue."  Weariness over cynicism and    
   sarcasm, Cleverness and Wittiness.  I am no longer amused by it; I just find    
   it tiresome...  ...At least, that was my first reaction.   
      
   But upon further reflection this evening, I've come to a bigger realization.    
   The truth is, I just haven't been myself lately.  Not for some time.  Over    
   the past couple of years I have endured several major setbacks in life.  One    
   result is that I find I have lost a great deal of my sense of humor, not    
   just an appreciation for irony.  Things just... aren't funny to me anymore.    
   In fact, as in this case, I sometimes fail to even recognize when people are    
   trying to be funny.   
      
   I need to get some help.  I need to make some serious changes.  For my sake.    
   For the sake of my family.   
      
   So I've decided to take a break.  I won't be around here for a while.  Not    
   until I can get my life back on track, and regain my sense of perspective.    
   So I can engage in conversation without snapping at people over inane jokes.   
      
   By and large I have enjoyed participating in this group over the years, and    
   wish you all the best.  Good-bye for now.  Be seeing you.
