Other newsreaders I've used didn't have archiving... only holding
active posts. If Xnews is different, great, but just because it is a
   newsreader doesn't mean it does.
So, does Xnews have 17 year old posts?

What maths? Google Groups allows one to read and post to usenet. She
   said she was doing that.
On Google Groups they do have an "all groups" and a "google
groups"(usenet) option so some people make the mistake of calling
newsgroups "Google groups" and if they do, they should be told "this
isn't a google group". Just as some people call them "boards" or
   "sites".
However, Sue in PA clearly call the ng "newsgroups" and stated that
she was using Google Groups to read the posts... so, no, she didn't
make a mistake. She didn't call the ng a Google Group. She didn't
   need correcting.
You did make a mistake in your "math" (or "maths" in this country).
