   Except that it seems the Lorien either *didn't* catch him or did a   
   very bad job of it.  Hence, "He was dying.  He was dead."  If Lorien   
   just uses his magic First Ones (tm) powers to safely decelerate   
   Sheridan and bring him in for a comfortable landing, there are no   
   injuries, no death, and no need to breathe on any embers.  And no 20   
   minute limit on the warranty.  The fact that there were all of these   
   things suggests that is wasn't a matter of Lorien "simply" catching   
   Sheridan.  Maybe the captain didn't go splat like a watermelon, but he   
   must have made a very satisfying "thump" when he hit ground.
